Hi Johnathon, Yes it does! Code makes me dizzy. Could you do this or know someone? It’s not a big priority, but I’d like to add it to the to do list. I’m assuming you don’t work for s2. Thanks for the help.

Posted: Wednesday Jan 1st, 2014 at 5:53 pm #62356

Glyn, I’m just now seeing your comments on Roles. I was understanding all that on the WordPress side. Been using WP for years, but had to figure out s2Member on my own with Forum and Tech Support’s help. Definitely nobody’s programmer.

This is the code I ended up with, and it looks like it’s working with my test member (who purchased Level 4 course) the way I want it to. He could only access Level 4 and receives the message when clicking to other lessons. As the Administrator, I can now View Page and Preview Changes from the Dashboard.

[s2If current_user_is_not(s2member_level4) AND current_user_is_not(s2member_level1) AND current_user_is_not(s2member_level0) AND current_user_is_not(s2member_level10) AND current_user_is_not(administrator)]12 Fast Ways to Answer Email in Outlook If you would like to purchase access to this course content, please CLICK HERE. One-time payment for lifetime access. Please refer to the TRAINING tab for course descriptions.
[/s2If]

Thanks so much!

OK. Got it. I think I’m clicking over here now. Happy New Year and thanks so very much!

When non-authorized folks click on a tutorial, I want them to see a message. At the bottom of my page, I put

[s2If current_user_is_not(s2member_level4)] OR current_user_is_not(s2member_level1) OR current_user_is_not(s2member_level0) OR current_user_is_not(s2member_level10) OR current_user_is_not(administrator)]12 Fast Ways to Answer Email in Outlook If you would like to purchase access to this course content, please CLICK HERE. One-time payment for lifetime access. Please refer to the TRAINING tab for course descriptions.
[/s2If]

I need Levels 4, 1, 0, 10, and administrator to NOT see this message. But it’s not working. Please advise. Thanks.

Here’s what I put at the top of each page, changing the first Level #. Thanks so much for your help!

[s2If current_user_is(s2member_level4) OR current_user_is(s2member_level1) OR current_user_is(s2member_level0) OR current_user_is(s2member_level10)]
Posted: Tuesday Dec 31st, 2013 at 6:35 pm #62332

Done! Thanks.

As admin, I can’t see the content from the browser.

Levels 1 and 10 (VIP access), and 0 (my faculty) should be able to see all courses.

Posted: Tuesday Dec 31st, 2013 at 4:33 pm #62311

Yes! Glyn I got that working on the individual pages. When you click to go to a page you don’t have access to, you see my header and a blank page. Wish it could say something…”If you would like to purchase access to this content, please click here.”

I’m ready to take your next baby steps. Bring it on!

Posted: Tuesday Dec 31st, 2013 at 2:25 pm #62304

Thanks Glyn. I’m so confused with all this. Please see my notes in parenthesis.

[s2If current_user_is(s2member_level4)] (am I putting this code at the top of the page that has the Level 4 content?
Level 4 course goes here
[/s2If] (then at the bottom of the page, I put this ending?

[s2If current_user_is(s2member_level1) OR current_user_is(s2member_level0) OR current_user_is(s2member_level10)]
All courses go here (each of my courses represents a level and are different pages with its own Level #)

Thanks Cristian, Thought about this half the night. I think I’ve figured out how to make this happen.

I need to email them for two reasons:

1) Event Reminders – The email they get when they register will have a form from Eventbrite they have to complete if they want to receive reminders of the Webinar (Eventbrite sends auto reminders so I don’t have to do anything).

2) Log-in info for Webinar – When they log into site, the page they come to will have this info. After the Webinar, the video will be on this page too.

I think this will work. The only thing I wish is that I could create a different email confirmation to the registered user for these special Webinars.
Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Email Configuration -> New User
Since I can’t do that, I’ll just put a special section in this email for the Eventbrite form.

Thanks again.

Yes, When they register for the Webinar, they’re actually becoming a member. I’ll only want to email the people who purchased that particular course (I’m assigning different levels for each course).

Would help if s2Member allowed us to filter members and email to them accordingly.

Cristian, I see what the problem is. I blog with Windows Live Writer. When I publish the page from within WLW, the button text is one word. When I publish directly from WordPress, all is well.

Thanks.

Done. All private info changed. Thank you!

Posted: Thursday Apr 26th, 2012 at 3:32 pm #11985

Cristian, Every time I add the line of text to my .php file and save, it ends up looking like this. And site page is white again. Do you have any idea about this? Does increasing the number of levels affect the memory WordPress needs?

<?php
define("MEMBERSHIP_LEVELS", 99);/** * The base configurations of the WordPress. * *

Re-reading your last comment. On setting the highest level, you mean making my VIP level, for example, something like Level 50…I get it…I think.

Posted: Thursday Apr 26th, 2012 at 4:35 am #11915

Where do I change “all access”?

I went into my wp-config.php file and added the line of text to add more levels. Site when white!! My Web host restored just the .php file, and I have the site back. Any idea what I did wrong?

Posted: Thursday Apr 26th, 2012 at 1:51 am #11899

Thanks, Cristian! The User Role plugin is my kind of easy. I’ll have to add more levels as I add more courses.

Is there a test mode the admin can get into to check all functionality? Otherwise, I’m thinking I’ll set up a temporary level to test.

I’m doing Google Plus hangouts on Monday nights with people who are non-programmers building their own membership sites. We all agree that s2member is the way to go. I appreciate the thoroughness of the program. I knew right away that it was well thought-out. And the videos help so much too.

Posted: Wednesday Apr 25th, 2012 at 10:15 am #11833

Unfortunately, this hasn’t helped me. I’ll go in and make the changes to my high level and 0 levels and come back here for what I hope will be a clear enough explanation that I can make this work.

Posted: Tuesday Apr 17th, 2012 at 5:39 pm #11044

Michelle, I JUST set all this up last week and didn’t have any issues with s2member working with the JW Player…I guess it was because I created the code from scratch and didn’t use any from s2member.

Glad everything worked out for you.

Posted: Tuesday Apr 17th, 2012 at 2:24 pm #11027

Michelle, Don’t know why, but my beginning and ending code wouldn’t reproduce in the post.

Posted: Tuesday Apr 17th, 2012 at 2:21 pm #11026

Hi Michelle,

I’m not using the JW Player plugin. I’m using long code. Still can’t believe I figured all this out because I’m not a coder. The experts on this site are great.

This code is for a playlist. I have several videos that make up the tutorial. They all line up below the main video. The user clicks the one they want to move to the main window.

I stream from Amazon s3 so that’s what the rtmp info is for. You would replace myamazon.cloudfront with your info. I’m not using the HTML5 fallback. My videos will only play using Flash (for more security because I have a membership Website).

On the video folders: The first few videos are not saved in a subfolder so you’ll notice a different path. Saving inside a subfolder works just fine.

‘file’: ‘wlw-1-configure.mp4’, (no subfolder)
‘file’: ‘wlwpart2/wlw-2-1-editposts.mp4’, (subfolder)

Hope this helps.

Sorry, Videos will not show on iPad or iPhone
