Cheers Bruce, have made the relevant changes, will now wait and see if it all works!
Will let you guys know. Give my regards to Jason and thanks again! :)
|

Hey Bruce,
No, unfortunately not I don’t think.
I see just the example Curl tracking pixel code like in the KB article that Jason did.
The page just simply gives me the example call:
<?PHP
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, "http://www.mysite.com/idevaffiliate/sale.php?idev_saleamt=99.99&idev_ordernum=abc-123&ip_address=111.111.111.11");
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true);
curl_exec($ch);
curl_close($ch);
?>
I don’t see any unique number anywhere. Should I be generating this somehow?
Sorry if I’m just being really stupid here – I thought i was pretty savvy with this! Haha!

|
Massively appreciated Jason – can’t thank you enough!
Updated and tested with both JW Player 5 & 6 – everything works flawlessly!
Thanks again! :)
|
|
Actually, looking at this a bit further, the above deletion of the ‘)’ enables the page to load and the JW Player to show up just fine in version 5 of JW Player.
If using JW version 6 of the player, the players DON’T load.
I’m not a coder, so have no idea what is missing, but I’m guessing something is on that line.
Over to Jason and Cristian etc!
Hope we can get a full fix soon!
Thanks so much fellas! :)
|
|
Looks like Bruno has a fix for this thankfully.
There was a syntax issue on line 154 of sc-files-in-inc.php
A random ‘)’ looks like the culprit.
I guess Jason can confirm this 100%, but removing it does the trick and I can now access JW Player pages again!

Thanks SO much Bruno!
This seems to have fixed my problem too! I couldn’t access any pages with JW Player on after the last update! This fixed the problem!

I’m surprised it doesn’t work for you – on my site I haven’t changed anything since I started using S2 member about 3 years back and I have code in there such as:
[s2If current_user_is(s2member_level0)] – that relates purely to level 0 users –
that still works for subscribers no problem.
I just presumed that subscribers were seen as level 0 members by S2.
This is probably best explained by Cristian or Jason then – sorry I can’t be of any more help.
|
|
Thanks for confirming Todd! Hopefully we’ll get a fix very soon!
|
|
Further testing – deactivating S2 enables the full page to load properly but obviously won’t load the JW content as it’s served through the shortcodes.
It’s obviously a change to the way S2 handles JW player in this new version – something has borked somewhere.
Sorry I can’t be more specific Jason but at least we know it’s this latest version causing the issue – if you want me to test anything, please let me know here or drop me an email with files etc.
Thanks :)
|
|
This is expected behaviour and all level 0 users should be showing as subscribers.
Don’t worry, it’s totally normal.
Subscribers ARE level 0 users – anything restricted to level 0 will only be able to be viewed by subscribers or higher.
|
|
Level 0 still requires a person to be a registered member and logged in as a subscriber to view the info.
If you want to leave things open for the public, don’t restrict the page with a level at all – that should do the trick!
|
|
Have tested this with default themes too on both sites with JW 5 & 6 and still seeing the same results.
I can only put it down to this last S2 update.
Thanks in advance, i’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of it.
|
|
Cheers Bruce, that’s great!
Thanks! :)

Hi Andreas,
The activation key field is usually only seen if you click on an activation link that has ALREADY been clicked and activated.
The key itself is in the URL and is automatically activated when clicked.
Can you check if these members have actually already activated their accounts?
|
|
Intact you look like you have open registration on.
I can sign up here:

Hi Bob,
Had a look at your site and you aren’t using WordPress to handle your sign ups.
You are currently using the MailChimp subscribe form, so nothing will get processed through WP.
Forget the MC form, it isn’t needed.
As long as you set up the list integration from within S2 member, your new sign ups through WordPress will be send list opt in emails to join your list.
Go to s2Member -› General Options -› Open Registration and make sure you are allowing open registration.
Users wil then go to:
http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php?action=register
To register.
They will get added to WP and also receive your mail list email.
Hope that helps!
Ross :)

Once again, thanks for being so darn good everyone!
Really glad we could fix this.
Look forward to the next release!
Ross :)

BIG thanks Jason!
Looks like I’mall set for the move this weekend.
Will let you know how it goes!

Awesome Jason, thanks so much for clearing that up!
Just a quick question about the 3 options in the URL’s:
http://www.example.com/idevaffiliate/sale.php?profile=xxx&idev_saleamt=%%amount%%&idev_ordernum=%%txn_id%%&idev_option_1=%%item_name%%&idev_option_2=%%txn_id%%&idev_option_3=%%cv0%%&ip_address=%%user_ip%%
How do they work exactly?
I used to only include txn_id, but it would be cool to cover all bases. How does iDev choose which one to report, or does it report all that are present for that transaction?
Thanks :)

Hey Bob,
You would usually get users to sign up to your WordPress site in the regular way.
Upon signup, either paid through a PayPal S2 member integration, or a free membership, a member would then be sent the opt in form for your Mailchimp list automatically.
If you are brand new to S2 Member it’s definitely worth watching Jason’s video tutorials here:
http://www.s2member.com/videos/
|
|
Hey Bob!
Unfortunately you have that the wrong way round.
When a member signs up to your site through S2 Member you can have S2Member add them to your Mailchimp list but NOT the other way around I’m afraid!
Sorry!
|
|
Hey Cristian,
Yep, I’v elooked at the new button in the ‘Other Integrations’ section as well as the roles button found in the general settings menu.
The issue isn’t with the integration this time, it’s purely a capability issue when you deactivate BBPress WITH S2 Member BEING ACTIVE.
It’s really bizarre, but if you do that, the ‘Read’ capability is stripped from the roles of admin and S2 levels 1-4 (perhaps others too).
This means that if you eventually deactivate S2 then the admin will have issues accessing a fair few screens and UI’s in the backend, until you reinstate the ‘read’ cap.
Deactivating BBPress when s2 is NOT active does not remove the cap, so some conflict with S2 is causing this somewhere.
It’s all a little odd.

Looks good to me Nate!
Now that will cover you for ALL payments except for those associated with specific post/ page purchases.
If you use those, create a new link under the post/ page notification on the same screen API > Notifications.
You should have all bases covered at that point. :)
|
|
This is easy Nate.
You want to be using the CURL of your installation in conjunction with the ‘payment notification’ API.
Don’t use any of the options in the API >Tracking menus, use the API > Notification menu and fill in the payment notification with a dynamic cURL.
You will get your cURL tracking pixel from our idev dashboard under settings > API > Advanced or similar I think.
I’m on my iPhone so can’t check just now, but it’s the bottom of the first drop down from the left in the admin screen.
Paste this URL into the payments notification setting and then replace the amount, order number etc with the replacement codes S2 list on that page.
This way you will ONLY pay commission when you GET PAID, not when someone signs up, so trials are totally possible.
Hope that helps!

SE MEDIA you simply want to set up all outgoing mail on your server to use something like Amazon Simple Mail or Google Apps Mail through SMTP.
It will cost a little extra but will be we’ll worth it as all mail will be digitally signed and not hit anyone’s spam.
See here for a start.
