My call to PayPal and watching Dave’s video unfortunately only confirmed that I DO have a PayPal Pro (Payflow Edition) account and that I AM using the correct information for the Payflow settings in s2member. Recurring billing was also been verified as being turned on. I’ve checked and rechecked everything 10 times and it’s still not working. Here is the most recent entry from my log file. All I get is “Error #1. User authentication failed.” PHP v5.2.17 :: WordPress® v3.3.2 :: s2Member® v120601 :: s2Member® Pro v120601 |

Good news …. did a bit more Googling and ran across this old article: I pasted the text below ….. Even though this article is a few years old, apparently the Payflow API still doesn’t like special characters in the password. After making a change, I got in. Now I’m dealing with errors about invalid CVV2 codes ….. but at least I’ve made progress. Hope that helps someone.
*Login information is incorrect. Verify that USER, VENDOR, PARTNER, and PASSWORD have been entered correctly. VENDOR is your merchant ID and USER is the same as VENDOR unless you created a Payflow Pro user. All fields are case sensitive. NOTE: You can’t have special characters like #, !, etc. in your password for verisign. *Invalid Processor information entered. Contact merchant bank to verify. *”Allowed IP Address” security feature implemented. The transaction is coming from an unknown IP address. See PayPal Manager online help for details on how to use Manager to update the allowed IP addresses. *You are using a test (not active) account to submit a transaction to the live PayPal servers. Change the host address from the test server URL to the live server URL. |
