CRAP!! Thanks for your detailed answer, I really appreciate it and clearly understand. The reason I switched to this service, was because many of my customers were having MUCH difficulty becoming members due to PayPal’s process to verify their account (requiring them to check their bank account for micro deposits, etc). This was such a pain in the @@S that I heard clients just gave up — not a good thing when I’m trying to make it as easy as possible to sign up. Paypal suggested this as a solution and it’s been working great until this new problem.

What would be a solution to this, that would not regress back the former issue of being difficult, and yet still be friendly with S2M? Do I need PayPal pro?

They ALL paid me through PayPal and I believe most with a credit card. At the time all of them signed up, I had not signed up for the PayPal “upgraded” service (sorry, I can’t remember the name, but it’s an additional $19/month) allowing my customers to NOT have to have a PayPal account and just be able to process their payment via credit card through PayPals portal.

So, in essence, every one of my customers (until recently) “had a PayPal account.”

Thanks for the extra clear, straight up answer, Cristian!

Ok, thanks Bruce. I’ve made the changes (manually) to my existing Level-1 paid members. I have switched their status to level 2 and will assume that their monthly recurring membership fees (that they originally signed up on) will continue, without any issues.

Thanks again.

Bruce, thanks for the response. Just to be clear, if I MANUALLY upgrade my existing members (that have paid for LEVEL 1), to LEVEL 2, it will NOT interfere with their existing LEVEL 1 auto-payments. YES?

Please help! I can’t seem to get any support from this forum. I’ve got a membership site, where I’ve got people that signed up as member Level-1 and paid through the PayPal button. Now, I want to manually upgrade some of them (but not all of them) to a new level I created (Level-2). If I do this from the USERS panel (and clear out their password) 1. will it happen quietly? 2. MOST IMPORTANT, will it mess up their current PayPal monthly membership fees that were first set up with the paypal button for membership level 1? I’m hoping to just upgrade them and have their payments continue as it has been.

If anyone knows the answer to this, I ‘d be most appreciative.

Update: It appears that LEVEL #1 paid memberships, through Paypal is working! HOWEVER, FREE SUBSCRIBERS that register and do not go through Paypal are NOT added to my Aweber list? Any idea how to fix this? Can you help me?
