I have been looking all over to find a solution for adding a thumbnail to the beginning of videos that are hosted through s2 and jw player….

I imagine that it would be something related to

$s2_jw_config[“jwplayer”]

…maybe a line that is entered after this part of the code…..no idea though.

Please help me to figure this out….thanks again guys!

It actually would be good to setup a system that would periodically send out an email with username and password details, along with a message from us….

This would not be a “forgot password” email, but rather, something that reminds them that they have access and would increase the chances that they access the site……

Is it possible to resend an email with the username and password to users? Sometimes, it seems that clients lose the email…rather than telling them to go to the forgot password tool in the site, I would like to be able to do this for them.

Thoughts?

I was not sure where to post this, but here we go anyway….

I setup to have secure file downloads available for clients.

I create a folder access-s2files-ccap-flast1

I put files in there and then was able to setup pages where they could be given ccap and download….worked great. now, when you click the file (stored at amazon s3 account in the appropriate folder that used to work), the file loads with a white screen….there are no error codes….nothing.

I have also linked files to the same amazon s3 account (not in the ccap folder) and they open fine from the wp site..

this leads me to believe that it is s2member that needs to be tweaked on my end….any ideas with htaccess????

I am also using bulletproof security (bps security)…it locks the htaccess file and allows me to add custom code…it was activated and s2member was allowing downloads without any trouble…i do not think that this is the problem but I wanted to mention it.

It actually seems that the error starting happening after I began using the s2member-secure-file feature…..could it be the s2member secure file uploader plugin?

It seems like I have an htaccess in the s2member plugin folder…..i also have my htaccess in the root folder…..s2member is randomly causing an internal server error….i need to rename the htaccess file in the root and then the site comes back up…what could s2member be doing to my root htaccess file?

How do I fix this?

1. I downloaded and installed the secure file upload plugin. Where do I go to upload through the WP dashboard?

2. Is it possible to receive a notification when someone downloads a secure file?

Now that I have that figured out, I am happy….

I want to turn Amazon S3 and CloudFront back on….was on before, but I turned off until I fixed the problem with file downloads.

I reentered the codes (worked before) and now I get a 403 error….

What do I need to do in order to set this up again….I clicked off the auto setup box as I set this up before….saved without error…then, when I went to download files, page loaded without file loading (screen was white).

Do I need to change the html file link when using S3 or does s2member take care of the S3/cloudfront urls for me?

ok…..

I was adding the access-s2member-ccap-pvenram to the link before the ?, rather than in the string after the ?

Can anyone explain why my secure downloads have a link to s2member-files/access-s2member-ccap-variable
while it is looking for files in the folder s2member-files (without searching in the access-s2member-ccap folder)…

If I only place in the access folder, the system doesnt find them so I have to move to the parent directory (s2member-files)….This breaks my security as users can guess other users files names and can open them

I modified the welcome page redirect url to the following:

<a href="http://www.omnimedfinancial.com/u<?php echo S2MEMBER_CURRENT_USER_SUBSCR_OR_WP_ID; ?>">

You can see the u in front of the php code….now I change the slug of the user’s page to match the user’s ID, but with a “u” in front of it….I added the u because I was running into problems with there already being pages with some of the numbers that I needed to use.

Now even if someone knows the slug of one of my users, they cannot derive any personal information from the slug or the redirect that says you do not have access to this page….mission accomplished.

Now, I just need to figure out why my file links inside of s2member-files dont work when the file is placed inside of the access-s2member-ccap-username folder….It is only when the files are in s2member-files that the file is picked up by the following file link:

http://www.mysite.com/access-s2member-ccap-pvenram/?s2member_file_download=samplefile.pdf

you will see that the link calls out the access-s2member-ccap-pvenram folder….how is it finding the file when it is not even in that folder….something is wrong with a setting. If I remove the access-s2member-ccap-pvenram ink from the file link, the file is not found….when I move the actual file out of the s2member-file folder and into s2member-files/access-s2member-ccap-venram folder, it is also not found…

Can we tell the system to redirect to 404 if the user does not have access to a page? That way, it totally hides the page, the content, and nobody ever knew it existed. With the pages that I am thinking about the 404 redirect being for clients (slug is client name), this would be great…

Maybe I just start using numbers for slugs instead of client name?

Is there s2 shortcode for identifying the user number in WP? That would help.

I have setup s2member to have secured pages for users…..the security of the page works great…..the problem is that if someone guesses a slug for a protected page, they get redirected to a page that says that they do not have access, rather than a general 404 error that you would get if you typed in a slug that doesnt exist.

I am using usernames to create slugs of secured pages for each user…..The problem with this is that if a slug is jsmith, then another person can tell that jsmith has a page…I don’t want this.

How would I set the site up so that if someone typed in a slug that matched an existing user, they get a 404 error if they do not have proper access? Is this possible?

I do realize that some pages should kick the visitor to a You Do Not Have Access page……the trouble is how do we do the denied access page for some pages and 404 when the page slug matches a user?

I am confused as to how s2 is behaving….

I point to the following link to allow a user to download a protected file:
http://www.omnimedfinancial.com/access-s2member-ccap-pvenram/?s2member_file_download=guardian5000-10000.pdf

The odd thing is that the file is in the s2member-files folder, and not in the s2member-files/access-s2member-ccap-pvenram folder….How can this be? When I put the file in the ccap-pvenram folder and remove it from the s2member-files folder, I get an error that says that the file is not available….

What do I need to change?

I am trying to link to a secure file…I put the file in the proper folder in ftp

I downloaded s3 organizer for firefox….i see that the amazon s3 folder replaces s2member-files.

I created a folder in S3….access-s2member-ccap-jtorres1

I then inserted my file, buysell.pdf

I linked to the file by copying the url that is provided from S3 in the AWS Management Console….updated the page,

I get this message when clicking the link: My bucket is called “omnimedfinancial”…what am I doing wrong?

I saw the posts about adding files to the s2member-files folder in ftp….I have no problem doing this.

So, if the username is jtorres1 (as an example), then I create

/wp-content/plugins/s2member-files/access-s2member-ccap-jtorres1/

and then insert files into that folder…..I can do this for each user, no problem.

The question: Where does the user go on the site to pull up these files? If I am not creating a separate page with a ccap of jtorres1, then where do the files get viewed?

I am having a similar problem with the auto demote being blank after I set it to yes….why is it reverting back to being blank?

I am trying to provide free access to level 1, while also setting a ccap for the new user…i want them to be demoted to user level 0 after 21 days…the pages that i am protecting require level 1 and a ccap…..by demoting the user to level 0 they can no longer access the page….

how do i do this?

I am looking to allow 7 days (as an example) of specific ccap access to level 1, 2, or 3 users (depending on what I need specific people to be able to see….some level 1s will have access to these ccap pages…..some level 2s will have access to ccap pages, but not all…

Is this possible?

Is it possible to automate the client portal process that Jason talks about in the video at this link?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBltDUopo1U
It would be great to automate the creation of new page, custom cap, etc, etc for each user that I create through a given user level…

I am trying to bring all users to a welcome page (same for each level), and to also create a secure page that I can add pdfs to for each client….I do not want one or the other…I want to do both (redirect based on s2member level at login…I have done this already….and I would like to have the page created for each users, regardless of level, that I can use to put quotes, etc)…

Is this possible?

“You can use the Membership Options Page Variables in conditionals to JS redirect the user to another page, or show different forms right there. Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Membership Options Page Variables (MOP Vars)”

I also would be curious to see the code that emmanuel would use to do what he mentioned above….

Please paste it specifically, mentioning which page to put the code on (member options page, level 1 or level 2 subscription page…..

What else are people doing (specific script) for redirects?

IS THERE REDIRECT SHORTCODE THAT CAN BE USED?

Hi. I could use some help….
I have some customers that I want to see 4 or 5 protected pages.

I created a form that I can use from a private WP page to enter their email address and username…an email then goes to the person and I send them an email stating that I have setup private access to them where they can go to pages that are exclusive to them (and the form is set to expire their registration after 7 days). Since these pages are 4/5 of about 100 at my site, there is a problem if they are redirected to the Welcome page….I would like these people to be redirected to the page at my site that lists links to the private pages….this will make this entire process easy and predictable for the user.

I know that s2 can do this….please tell me which code to enter, and which page to put the php code in…I am assuming that the code is entered on the welcome page so that “if” they can access the specific level, and they are logged, that the welcome page redirects instantly to the desired private page….

I looked in the forum and I see that I need to use MOP variables….I just do not know how to create this code specifically….any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
