Two simple questions

I am setting up my site member registration in the following way:

1) First members will be able to provide their username, email and password at the front page of the site to register as a free member in level 0.

2) Then I will manually bump them up to level 1 once their custom order is ready. This is a 14 day free trial during which they would be able to to sign up for a monthly recurring paid membership which would be in level 2.

My questions are:

(1) I set the “Collect First/Last Names during Registration?” to off in the s2Member options for level 0 registration because I don’t want to scare people off who wouldn’t want to provide their first and last name right away. But there is a small note that says: “Recommended to leave as ‘yes’ “. I was wondering would me turning this off affect any functionality in a negative way? Would members still be able to move up to level 2 as paid members? And would I be able to collect their first and last names later on?

(2) Secondly, Is it possible for me to manually bump members in level 0 to level 1 (which is a trial level) and have their access revoked after 14 days even though they originally signed up for level 0?

That’d be fine. Yes, then can upgrade later without a problem.

Sure, you can collect their names editing the profile.

Yes, you’d have to edit their profiles manually and change the role to s2Member’s Level 1.

To have the demotion happen, you’d have to set the EOT time in their profiles and make sure that the Auto EOT Behavior is set to demotion. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Automatic EOT Behavior[/hilite]
