Please help:

after someone pays through paypall they are redirected to a page with this message. They also do not get any kind of confirmation email. what should I do?

here is the message:

ERROR: Unable to verify $_POST vars.
Please contact Support for assistance.

This is most likely related to an invalid configuration of s2Member, or a problem with server compatibility. If you are the site owner, and you’re absolutely SURE that your configuration is valid, you may want to run some tests on your server, just to be sure $_POST variables are populated, and that your server is able to connect/communicate with your Payment Gateway over an HTTPS connection.

s2Member uses the WP_Http class for remote connections; which will try to use cURL first, and then fall back on the FOPEN method when cURL is not available. On a Windows® server, you may have to disable your cURL extension; and instead, set allow_url_fopen = yes in your php.ini file. The cURL extension (usually) does NOT support SSL connections on a Windows® server.

Hello Philip,

The only time I’ve seen this reported is when the success attribute is not defined correctly, you can check under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons -› Shortcode Attributes (Explained) -› success, it should explain what it should look like.

If fixing it doesn’t work, could you please post the shortcode you’re using and the URL to your website? Thanks.

Hope this helps. :)

Hey Eduan,

thank you so much for your help.

This somehow did not work.

I created a special sign up for a group I am taking through our training program:

site: http://churchtraining.tv/special-deal-sdf-d-23-l

onece you sign up paypall redirects you to this site ( the same problem message I shared before):

http://churchtraining.tv/?s2member_paypal_return=1&s2member_paypal_return_tra=fnIyOmdLM1lxT3NpZHVXUkVNNXMwdVJaQ2J3NmczQ1U2bE9BOjdmNGQ3ZGYzOWE5ZGY3NjJlOTY5ZDUzMTYwYmUwZmIwfG_dwGs9RrnU3189v4-W4OIccGwUB1zuc7rQ2ag4N2RqVz3phJVZSTBU7HSPu0l-Yj0NVQFy2yHrzOFSfqbvw3cHvF9JJlskG1EVJNGVeBskWVtN6fBqLd3vFEv67RfWTZvmTiNL-u8ydvzfdNToF59DIlIOjm6-rVl8JSMLo1GcY5HbgbY3qXBhWuO6X-Q92Jakc0HeVGdgb2_E3hqD-hL-YoA5HcUIajFfUzM16TIWbwG4HVsq1zhntf5G0c3sJmMEGN2QkaaB2ajo-PGfdZjFhm2h5h9qxYWRXxmjGM4guEw7HTz2T6aB-l893zN_wc4sO5T8CL9wGmABaHf_0yPnMDbux1p0TWS6g3bUXEtm5x7jYHR19g789xw9dL5zSw&tx=9NX747096Y9130525&st=Completed&amt=15.00&cc=EUR&cm=churchtraining%2etv&item_number=4

the wordpress shortcode is:

[s2Member-PayPal-Button level="4" ccaps="" desc="Church Training Deal" ps="paypal" lc="" cc="EUR" dg="0" ns="1" custom="churchtraining.tv" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="15" rp="1" rt="L" rr="BN" rrt="" rra="1" image="default" output="button" /]

thank you so much for your help. this is really frustrating right now…

Philip

Oh I am so dumb, I meant the “custom” attribute, not the “success” attribute, I’m sorry for the confusion.

thanks again.

I checked the custom. this is what it says:

custom=”churchtraining.tv” must start with your domain. Additional values can be piped in ( ex: custom=”churchtraining.tv|cv1|cv2|cv3|etc” ). Not valid when cancel=”1″.

what do i do with this now?

thanks a bunch. PZ

Hmm, not sure what it could be. Try this hack, and see if it works better.

Also, please make sure that your PayPal credentials are correct, last time I saw this the credentials were wrong. So just triple check that. ;)
