Just before I purchase, I have a project that s2m pro will fulfil apart from a bespoke user access requirement.

I need to be able to allow users (who are not registered with the s2m protected site) to gain full access to the site depending on the membership status of another db.

E.g. If I am a member of widgets.com and as long as I’m have a full membership status, I get free access to the s2m protected site.

When the user login to the s2m site, a query runs against the membership API of widgets.com and confirms that this member is allowed access or not. If true, they will gain full access to the s2m site until they log out/ session ends.

So i guess I’m asking, is it possible to offer temporary, session based access without needing to register on a s2m protected site?

Hello Ian,

I’m afraid there’s no way to offer “temporary” accounts.

It can be coded so that it checks in another database and stuff but there’s no such thing as a “temporary” login session per-say.

You could probably achieve this if it checks in another database, confirms, creates the user and logs him in, and then deletes the account when the user logs out.

However even the automatic login would need modification in s2Member’s/WordPress’ code.
