Allow non registration for 95% content

I need to set S2 up so that it allows 95% of content to be free without any type of registration, no pay, no email, no nothing. I’ve read and think I understand how to limit access to the paid/signed up areas. ATM all posts and pages when clicked to view go to the home page regardless of where before installation it was living and is only allowing excerpts to show. Been going around in circles. Sure it is something simple and obvious but I’ve missed it. Thanks for any help.
