I am having trouble with the newest version of s2 member and allowing people in general to view the site without having to register. I feel really lame asking this question, but I have poured through the settings in S2member and have been looking for anyone with this same problem, but to no avail. I must assume it is so simple of a change that no body has thought to talk about it.

Does anyone know how to allow anonymous users to visit and view the site without having to login / register?

I only want one section of the site to require registration / membership and I cannot enable this plugin without it locking down the entire site.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Hello Shayne,

With s2Member you can just protect certain sections of your website, even certain sections of your content itself. But you say s2Member locks down your entire website, have you checked the settings under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› URI Access Restrictions and made sure that you’re not protecting your entire website there?

When I go into URI access restrictions it is blank. As well are post, page, category, and tags restrictions. I tried typing in a fake url path IE /members/ to see if leaving it blank defaulted to locking everything down and it did nothing. Site still requires users to login to see anything.

Thanks for your help Eduan

I see, well, then s2Member is not protecting the content. What happens when you’re asked to login? What happens if you go to a page that’s not supposed to be protected?

Do you get redirected to the membership options page? To the login page? Where?
