I’ve gotten Amazon S3 to work with S2Member but I’m getting the error “Your Amazon® CloudFront Distributions are: (NOT yet auto-configured).”

I did this last week and waited for a week. It’s still not working. Of course I tried last week after waiting for 30 minutes – but Amazon’s site said it was still refreshing. Now Amazon’s site reports that it’s complete or available or whatever – but S2member still reports the above error. I added the private key and secret key, but still doesn’t work.

I read through another topic that covers this in detail and tried both solutions
Changing DELETE to X-DELETE

Adding the following:
case ‘DELETE’:
curl_setopt( $handle, CURLOPT_CUSTOMREQUEST, ‘DELETE’ );
curl_setopt( $handle, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $r[‘body’] );
break;

Is it safe to leave the CODE in? I took it back out when it didn’t work, but maybe it only works AFTER 30 minutes.

What is the next step after 30 minutes -> Just edit the CloudFront options and RESAVE to see if it works?
It looks like I can add the STREAMING distribution manually. Are there any special settings I need to do in s2member if I add the STREAMING distribution manually?

The Crossdomain.xml file was not created

But the real problem is – I don’t know what the next steps are.

Wait for 30 minutes? (again)
is there any status page for S2Member or Amazon that tells me
how much longer to wait or what is going on (Current status)

How can I tell if I have the same curl problem as the other users?

As it is right now – it still doesn’t work and I’m unclear as to why or what to do next:
In Progress?
Process Failed?
Need to restart process
Need to delete Key?

Feature Request -> Monitoring progress
You could add a date of the last update from S2Member to Amazon within s2Member pages and
recommend Next Steps like this:
Last Updated at 4/4/2013, 11:27am Please wait for x minutes until your account is created
[Check Status Now] button
Check for Download and Streaming distributions
Test Access

Thank you for reporting this important issue.

The best thing to do here would be to start with a clean integration of Amazon. You can use the information here to wipe these settings, and then start back again.

Knowledge Base » Reset the Amazon S3/CloudFront integration

After that’s completed, make sure that you have your bucket named with all lowercase letters, and try the integration again. If that still does not work, please turn on HTTP logging here and send us Dashboard Credentials so we can take a look.

See: Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Log Files (Debug) -› Logging Configuration

You can send login information here: s2Member® » Private Contact Form

If you do send Dashboard information, let us know with a reply on this thread.

I completed the steps yesterday and it initially said “Completed successfully” (which is the first time I’ve seen this) and please wait 30 minutes.

Is that all I’m supposed to do? Is it supposed to be working now?

Today when I was browsing around on my Mac, I found a link to my file on the S3 Amazon site and I was expecting to be denied to the link, but I wasn’t denied access. It might be related to an access key that I setup on my mac and I will do more testing, but does that complete the configuration or do I need to go back into the S2 Admin configuration after 30 minutes and click on Automatically Configure again?

After 30 minutes, is it supposed to be locked down with the ACLs that the S2Member config generated or processed?

It should be working correctly now. If it was completed successfully then Amazon will update within 30 minutes and your new rules will be in place.
