I’ve been using v3.5.7 for a few years. Now I would like to upgrade to the latest and greatest but since this is a live membership site, I don’t want that much downtime or the content to get leaked out.

Is this going to be a seamless upgrade from a database perspective? In other words, will I have to redo anything I already have set up?

That’s a big jump in versions. There may be trouble, but I’m not certain, since I’ve never tried it.

What I’d do if it were my site:

– Make sure you have s2Member’s Deactivation Safeguards enabled. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Deactivation Safeguards[/hilite]
– Back everything up (e.g. files, database)
– Clone the site to work on a copy that’s not live.
– Try the update in the dev copy.
– If you have trouble, then try doing the updates little by little. Keep notes of the steps you take. Here you can find previous releases: http://wordpress.org/plugins/s2member/developers/
– Once you succeed updating to the latest version, either make that installation the live site, or reproduce the steps you followed.

I hope that helps. :)
