I ran a forum using phpBB but needed to change. I went with WordPress and bbPress. But, I needed a Role Management plugin and a plugin to make certain forums Private or Hidden.

I went with the Members plugin but nothing for privacy.

So I’m looking at replacing it with S2. I want to have certain forums available only to those with a Role of Private, Hidden or Private/Hidden.

Is S2 for me?

Hello Pam,

Well, s2Member does not offer any role management to be honest. It just adds his own roles so that it can protect stuff.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that s2Member only offers restrictions for stuff like bbPress through it’s URI restrictions (Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› URI Access Restrictions).

Check under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Other Integrations -› bbPress® for integrating (the user base I believe) with bbPress.
