INTRODUCTION

I’m having a little trouble with URI Level Access Restrictions.

The problem is I do not always get re-directed to the Membership Options page, and sometimes I get restricted info.

The problem seems to be the slash at the end of the URI assignment.

STEPS TO DUPLICATE

Sample 1: Page Not Found

Go to:
http://storytechnician.com/forum/ (contains ending slash mark)
– Redirection works correctly by sending visitor to membership-options.

Go to:
http://storytechnician.com/forum (contains no ending slash mark)
– Redirection results in Page Not Found error.

Sample 2: s2Member reveals secured information

Re: /members/ URI.

Go to:
http://storytechnician.com/members/
– Redirection works correctly by sending visitor to membership-options.

Go to:
http://storytechnician.com/members
– Reveals a list of members on the site (just me).

THE PROBLEM

I think that it may not always be intuitive for a user to type a trailing slash at the end of a URL if and when the URL is typed. I realize that the average user will not type URL’s but rather click through existing links, but this is a concern.

THE QUESTION:

Is this a configuration error on my end?

What do I need to do to fix this?

MY SETUP

I’m using the default s2Member Pro settings, but have the URI’s configured as follows:

Alternative View Protection:
Protect Alternative Views?
YES to all options.

URIs That Require Level #0 Or Higher:
/groups/
/group-forums/
/activity/
/profile/
/settings/

URIs That Require Level #1 Or Higher:
/members/
/blogs/
/messages/
/friends/
/forums/
/forum/

Hi Buck.

Since your URI restriction has a trailing slash, the URL without it won’t have a match. Try removing all the trailing slashes and see if that solves your problems:

URIs That Require Level #0 Or Higher:
/groups
/group-forums
/activity
/profile
/settings

URIs That Require Level #1 Or Higher:
/members
/blogs
/messages
/friends
/forums
/forum

Actually, /forum will take care of /forums too. And /group would take care of /groups and /group-forums.

I hope that helps. :)

What an annoyingly simple fix!

That corrected the problem.

Thank you!
