Hi!
I’m using Version 120517 + s2Member Pro v120517

I would like to be able to change often DEMO account password on my site.
On the front-end it is grayed out.
On the backend the option is not visible under USERS demo profile.

How can I change demo account password?

Thank you for your assistance.

Hello Michelle.

What demo account are you referring to? This is not something s2Member adds or modifies.

Hi Cristian,

S2Member allows us to create a “demo” account.
So I created one.
But when I want to change the password it does not allow me to change it.

Please see these 2 screen capture for better illustration.

If more info is required please let me know.

Ah, you mean a test account you created, I see.

Hmm… And that’s while logged in to the demo account you created, not the admin one, right?

Could you send the dashboard login info through the contact form so I take a look there, please? s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Thanks.

Cristian,

Thanks for your reply.
I sent credentials via private form.

Cannot change password when logged in as demo account (front end) and also cannot when logged-in as Admin (back end).

Thanks for the heads up on this request for support.

Yes, what you’re seeing here is really a bug, but it could also be thought of a security precaution. Accounts created with the special keyword username “demo”, CANNOT have their password changed, by anyone.

I say this could be considered a bug, because really, we should allow an administrator to change the password. However, this gets a bit tricky in a multisite network installation, so for now we’ve just disabled password changes on any “demo” account, by anyone. This will be fixed in a future release.

In the mean time, the only way to change the “demo” password, is by deleting the “demo” user, and recreating the account from scratch. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
