If I have a protected page or post, can a paid member give someone else the URL and have that person access the URL outside of the membership site?

Hello David,

You mean if this is possible as an exploit? Or do you want your users to use it like this?

Yes is this possible as an exploit?

I can’t remember myself.

I think it is exploitable, but I’m not sure, you’ll have to test yourself. I remember something about s2Member generating a special link for the exact person that bought it, but again, I can’t remember.

However, it is only exploitable in the amount of time the link is valid, which is 72 hours by default.

Again, not sure, so you will have to test yourself.

Eduan,
Is that time limit adjustable say if I wanted to change it to 30 minutes? Thanks.

I believe you can change it to whatever time is possible, not completely sure though. If you can it would have it’s limits, like, you can’t say “one hour and 3 minutes”, you would have to say “90 minutes”, see what I mean?

For that you will need to study the shortcode attributes though, the generator simply makes the button for you, but you can modify whatever value to whatever you want, as long as it’s allowed by the attribute.

Check under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons -› Shortcode Attributes (Explained) for more info. :)
