Hello there;
I am considering putting up a series on self-defense techniques. With some of those I’d think it irresponsible to offer them to an undiscerned public (I know, much of this is available in various places across the ‘net anyhow; but it doesn’t have to be my site that gives some baddie some bad ideas), so …

I’m looking for a solution that would allow me to establish a basic network of trust (later paid content acquisitions notwithstanding, on per-view or other bases, don’t know about that yet). I’m thinking, a registered user (starting with my humble self inviting people I trust with the information to disperse it responsibly) could send out invitations to eMail-adresses (not many, the point is that you actually _know_ the person you’re inviting well enough) and the invitation process would not necessarily require invitation codes but could the inviter’s (sender’s) email address as the invitation token instead. That way, anyone who is allowed in to see the more classified bits and pieces could him- or herself invite more people trusted by him- or herself, vouching with his or her good name that way, no complex code generation required. (The chain of relation could always be followed back upriver that way should the need ever arise.)
Invitees log in with the eMail-address the invitation was sent to and use the eMail-adress the mail came from as the authorization token. That relationship could also be amended to the user database (added field “invited by – “).

Am I making any sense – or am I missing a very obvious flaw in that idea? Activate Net-Of-Trust could be an option for a membership level in s2member if not.
What do you think?

Cheers – PP

Thank you for your inquiry.

s2Member doesn’t have this kind of invite-system integrated, but I suppose you could set something like this up with Custom Registration/Profile Fields along with s2Member’s Registration Access Links.

See: Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields
See Also: Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Registration Access Links

You can have Users invite members, and you can send them links to register, where they enter the name of the User that invited them.
