Create a role field in registration

Hello I am using the s2member pro plugin for my wordpress site. But I strucked with role functionality in this so kindly i need help for this, As I tried custom registration fields to define a new feature (called role, with different profiles in a dropdown box) for the user profile, but they are only informative and not updating to real wordpress roles. so when am filling the registration from the role which am selecting while filling it need to be updated in wordpress user profile. please suggest me how to set this functionality. Reply me with a solution ASAP
