I need to customize the recurring billing email receipt that subscribers get sent after they’ve been subscribed 30 days. The subject, and body of the current receipt reads like this:

Subject: Your Scheduled Payment has been Processed

Body: Receipt from Payment to MyPRToolbox

Order Number: ELCP9BCAD7B8
Authorization Code: 111111
Transaction Date: 24-Jun-13 04:45 AM
Transaction Amount: 0.01
Response: Approved

Is this subscription an upgrade of an existing account or a new signup?

If it’s an upgrade, this may help: http://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10368&p=33365#p33365

It’s not an upgrade or a new signup. This is the automated receipt a user gets after they’ve been billed a 2nd time for the subscription. I assume they’ll keep getting the same automated email every 30 days, or whatever the billing cycle happens to be. I need to change THAT email.

I see, thanks for clarifying it, sorry I didn’t get it the first time.

I searched the code and couldn’t find that email yet. Is it being sent from your site or does it come from your payment gateway?

It’s coming from the admin email associated with s2member; not my paypal email (which is different than my s2member admin email) or from a paypal.com email address.

Okay. I’ll ask Jason about it and let you know when I hear back from him. :)

I just got a reply from Jason, here’s what he said:

Jason said:

That’s not an email that s2Member would ever send by default. It’s either coming from their payment gateway, or possibly from an integration they did with s2Member. For instance, I would check the API Notifications panel in the Dashboard. If there are API Notification handlers (e.g. something custom) that could be the underlying source of these emails.

I don’t have any custom API notification handlers, and there wouldn’t be any common problems to fix because it’s a notification email; which is either handled by s2member, or by paypal. So will check with them.

or by paypal. So will check with them.

Cool. I hope they can confirm if that email is coming from them.

By the way, if you view the email’s full information (e.g. in Gmail the option is called “Show Original”, it has different names in other services), do you recognize where it’s being sent from? (i.e. your server or PayPal’s)
