We are currently testing with the s2members free in a multisite envirement.
Some funtionalety questions popped up that need to be cleared before we know if a full multi license is what we want. We have the followin sutuation:

Main site A)
User A – super administrator
Subsite B)
User B – subsite administrator
User C
Subsite C)
User C
User D

1) These days we updated to latest version, and we noticed that a administrator of a subsite is unable to edit its own users. Only function he sees is delete (before update this whas not the case, see my earlyer post: http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/multisite-subsite-admin-can-del-superadmin/). In my opinion a subsite administrator should be able to edit his own subsite users. Knowing this whas not the case before the update, is this a feature difference between free and multi license?

2) Next to point A, if this whas the case with User C of the situation above (subsite admin User B deletes User C, user C is also gone in subsite C). I dont think this is normal, I think that unlinking his membership to the specific subsite should happen… Bug?

3) We noticed that whan User A (super administrator) or User B (subsite administrator) add’s a new user and fills in the extra fields created with s2members, the profile fields are empty when the new user activates his activation mail (nice to see when u manualy added 70 new users with full extra fields). Bug?

Are these point bugs, features between free and multisite license? Or what? :)

Hi Sven.

Points (1) and (2) don’t seem to be related to how WordPress multisite behaves, not something s2Member manages. Did you try those without s2Member active?

Regarding (3), WordPress doesn’t send activation emails. Are you using another plugin that adds this? e.g. BuddyPress.

Hi Cristian,

1&2) Should a subsite administrator be able to edit his own website users/view them with s2members plugin?
i just want that a subsite administrator is able to edit and view his own subsite members.

3) in past yes, but uninstalled it. later installed s2members, after that the sites.

Kinds regards,

add to point 3) the problem whas not that the user recieves a activation mail, but that the data in the fields created by s2members were not stored after creating a new user. This seems to be solved after another update.

The problem point remains that a subsite administrator is still unable to edit his own users s2members fields.

OK, then the problem is that child blog’s admin can’t edit the s2Member custom profile fields of the users in his child blog? Did these users register in that child blog or in the main blog? (Not sure if it’s even possible, just checking.)

I’m not very familiar with multisite, so once you confirm that, I’ll email Jason asking him in case it’s a bug.

Thanks!
