E-mail Validation

Hi, I installed the free framework but still I have a question. It is possible to create a registration form that after been submitted send an email validation to the members, so they can click on the link and the the account will be completed?

I believe it doesn’t quite work this way, but if you don’t let the users choose their own password, they have to receive the password in their inbox, so in a way it’s a form of confirmation.
