Hello,

I would like to have people register with their email addresses as their usernames. I’ve looked at the previous topics in the Pre Sale forum, and they state that WordPress won’t allow special characters in the username field. That must have changed, because at least with 3.5.1, I was able to register on a demo s2Member installation using my email address as both my username and email.

If this is possible, is there a way to remove the instance of “Username” from the registration page, and then change “username” to “email” on the login page?

if someone were to register with a now-defunct email address, they could simply re-register – we only plan on one membership level, and it’s free.

Solve this issue for me, and we’ll be paid customers right away! Thanks!

Thank you for your inquiry.

I’ll send this in as a feature request. In the meantime, I believe some Users have been using this Plugin to acccomplish this functionality with s2Member:

Thanks, Bruce.
Until the feature gets implemented, is there an easy way to simply change the label on the Username & Email fields on the registration & login pages?

In other words, is there a way to change the registration page from this:

Username: _____
Password: ______
Email Address: _____

to

Email Address: _____ (renaming the label on the Username field above)
Confirm Email Address: ______ (renaming the label on the Email Address field above)
Password: ______

Thanks!

Yes, you’d use the WordPress gettext_with_context filter to do so. You can find info on how you’d do this in this article:
