I am receiving this error in the Email Configuration section of the s2Member settings:
New User Email Configuration
Conflict warning: You have another theme or plugin installed that is preventing s2Member from controlling this aspect of your installation. When the pluggable function wp_new_user_notification() is handled by another plugin, it’s not possible for s2Member to allow customization of New User Emails. This is NOT a major issue. In fact, in some cases, it might be desirable. That being said, if you DO want to use s2Member’s customization of New User Emails, you will need to deactivate one plugin at a time until this conflict warning goes away.

I deactivated all of my plugins, but that didn’t solve it. I ran a search for the string “wp_new_user_notification” on my Linux server and from the results, none were in plugin folders. What did come up was /wp-includes/pluggable.php, and when I commented out the area defining the wp_new_user_notification function, then the s2Member warning went away, but that doesn’t seem to me like a good solution, particularly when it comes to upgrading WordPress with future updates.

Anybody have an idea of a solution for me?

Hello Zac,

Does the error still appear when you change your theme back to the default one? (TwentyEleven.)

Thanks, Eduan. I just confirmed that the error does still appear when reverting to the Twenty Eleven theme. Any other ideas?

OK, I suppose you also deactivated all your plugins besides s2Member right?

I’m thinking, do you have any mu-plugins installed? Check this WordPress article for info on that: http://codex.wordpress.org/Must_Use_Plugins

Eduan, I decided to go through and deactivate all of my plugins besides s2Member to see if that fixed it, and I was sure that I already did that and it didn’t work, but this time it did. I probably thought I deactivated all of them, but only deactivated the ones I thought applied (like SMTP related plugins and a couple of others). It ended up being WP Events Calendar. Thanks so much for suggesting that, because the way you worded it had me try the way I should have tried it instead of my initial approach.

By the way, any suggestions on a good events calendar plugin that might actually work with s2Member?

Thanks, again!

Glad you were able to solve your problem Sac!

Regarding the plugin, I’m afraid I am not familiarized with those plugins. I believe a post a few weeks ago asked for one of these plugins. I believe the answer was that he would have to check them to see if an of them worked.
