Email not sent for API created users

I’m using the code example under s2Member -> API Scripting -> Remote Operations API to add users to my site. Users are added fine, but the system doesn’t seem to be sending the user/password email even though I have this line: “notification” => “1”, /* Optional. A non-zero value tells s2Member to email the new User/Member their Username/Password. */ set to 1. I have the WordPress Email Log plugin installed to confirm that emails are not going out. I am getting a confirmation as an administrator, but the users aren’t getting the user/pass email… Help?
