A customer has reported this error on the re-direct back from PayPal to WordPress.

What does this mean & what do I need to change?

The error hasn’t been reported before so wondering if it was just a glitch?

Hi Baysup, in your WordPress admin go to the page where your registration form shortcode has been placed. In the shortcode there is a custom=”xxx” variable. This variable must start with your domain name. For example custom=”http://www.awebsite.com”. If you need to pass other variables through the custom attribute you can add a pipe “|” after the web address.

ie custom=”http://www.awebsite.com|second variable here|third here”

Hope that helps!

Hello Baysup,

Epix is right, just a little thing, your custom value can’t have the http://. Only the www and after.

Hope this helps. :)

Hi Guys sorry for no reply for ages I forgot to check back.

We’re still getting the problem but I wanted to confirm what you mean because on our registration page (membership page) we are simply using a PayPal button & there is no link in that to our URL?

Here’s our page http://www.baysup.co.uk/membership/ there’s no registration required as such this is just a means for us to collect repeat subscriptions.

Can you explain a little more for me?

I think it might be that I used Paypal to create the button as I wanted more functionality than i could do using the S2 create button function. I wanted to allow multiple options of membership to buy & also to collect postal address of the user. So when you create the button code in PayPal & enter the return URL etc you HAVE to enter http://

Anyone have any thoughts?

Hello Pete,

Have you tried using a shortcode? Cause the names don’t really apply when using the HTML version. Also, sorry for the delay.

No problem, lol.

A shortcode looks something along these lines:

[some-random-shortcode some-attribute another-attribute]

Basically it’s something like a PHP function, but in a shortcode format, so that we don’t need the PHP tags.

Did you follow the following instructions when creating the button?:
Knowledge Base » Using PayPal created buttons

Hope this helps. :)
