Hi s2member community,

As of this morning all transactions involving S2Member Pro are suddenly returning “Error. Please contact Support for assistance.”

I’ve tried Jason’s scripts and here are the results:

curl-test-http-google.php — [blank page]
curl-test-https-paypal.php — Sorry, this test failed!
fopen-test-https-paypal.php —

Warning: file_get_contents() [function.file-get-contents]: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in /home/capeusa0/public_html/test/fopen-test-https-paypal.php on line 7

Warning: file_get_contents(https://www.paypal.com/) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in /home/capeusa0/public_html/test/fopen-test-https-paypal.php on line 7
Sorry, this test failed!

I’m on a Lunarpages shared server, which uses PHP 5.2.14. I asked about about whether cURL was turned on, and they said it was an issue with Paypal API.

I spent an hour on the phone with Paypal, entered a new API signature, but they were unable to help me further without an error code, which I couldn’t find in the logs. I’m thinking that it’s not really on Paypal’s side, but don’t know how to verify this to Lunarpages. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thx in advance!

Hello Jennifer.

It could have been a temporary problem. If you test again, do you still get that problem?

Could you post the related entries, x’ing out private info?

Actually, it was revealed that the Paypal API was down for most of the day.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
