Hi,

After uploading a S2member plugin (version 121213) plugin on wordpress (version 3.2.1), my site has crashed and now I cannot log in to my wordpress dashboard.

To get your support,
I purchased the pro license and post this message.
I have uploaded the /s2member-pro folder to your /wp-content/plugins.

I still have a error message saying: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /home/aitas/public_html/japanesebuddy/wp-admin/includes/update.php on line 278

Please help!

Thank you.

Thank-you for reporting this important issue

We have seen this happen in the past as a result of a low memory limit within WordPress. There is a post in the WordPress forums about how to fix this error here:

http://wordpress.org/support/topic/fatal-error-allowed-memory-size-of-33554432-bytes-exhausted-14#post-1845435

You may also want to check out Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips, and specifically the Server Check Tool before attempting to install s2Member once more.

Please let us know if problems persist after taking those steps.

NOTE: If you’re running WordPress/s2Member in concert with MANY other plugins (or perhaps an elaborate theme), it’s always possible that you may exceed the default WordPress memory limit. The more plugins you run, the more you run the risk of consuming more and more RAM with your site (as an application) overall.

Thus, the default WordPress memory limit may need to be increased to support a more complex site. This is a very common thing, and there is an article about it at WordPress.org with instructions on how to accomplish this.

Please let us know if problems persist :-)

Thank you for your advise, Bruce.
I tried to fix this problem as it is suggested in the link of your post
(To create a “php.ini” file in the wp-admin folder).
However, it did not work out for me and I got the same memory error message.
So, I renamed and deactivated the S2memberplugin from FTP.
Now I am able to log in my dashboard.

Thanks for the heads up, Jason.

I will follow all your advise and try to activate the S2member plugin again.
