Free Registration Re-Direction and Back

Boy, I thought this would be a lot easier. Apparently not. I’ve gone through quite a few posts but it’s all still very confusing. At this point, I am just looking for a very simple application of S2 Member.

All registration of clients (subscribers) is currently free (level #0). When they click on a nav bar page called ‘Upload A File,’ I want them to be re-directed to a login page (if they are not logged in), or a registration page (if they are not yet registered).

Option 1: Once they log in, they should be re-directed back to the ‘Upload A File’ page.

Option 2 : Once they log in, they can go back to the Upload A File page on their own, if Option 1 is too complicated (meaning I’m not a coder or developer).

So far, I can’t get past the re-direction part.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello Rainer,

If I understood correctly what you need, this is not possible with s2Member.

If a member accesses something he can’t access, he will be redirected to the membership options page and only to that.

If you want it to redirect somewhere else (including the login page) you will need to modify s2Member for it to work this way. And of course the automatic return to the page etc. will also have to be coded in.

Okay, thanks. How about this then?

I have a page called Upload A File.

If they are not logged in, or registered, they will see “Please log in or register to access this page.” (I put the Dropbox instructions inside a conditional shortcode, like so “[s2If is_user_logged_in()] [simple-wp-dropbox] [/s2If]”

After they log in and return to that page, they should see ONLY the Dropbox instructions. Right now they see both the Dropbox instructions plus the original “Please log in or register to access this page.”

You could just put the login instructions inside conditionals as well. :)
