Hi there.

Last week, I updated our long outdated system, BBPress, and S2M Pro (130406).

We just noticed today that free subscribers are now showing up as “Unverified” for their user roles from within the WP/S2M “Browse Members” interface. So now users with the following values in wp_usermeta a:1:{s:10:”subscriber”;s:1:”1″;} and a:1:{s:15:”subscriber”;s:1:”1″;} are both showing up as Unverified, even though they aren’t level_0. These should be interpreted as “Basic Member” or “Referral Member” roles, no?

I notice that when I export members as a csv file from s2m, roles are showing up/interpreted correctly:
inactive
subscriber
s2member_level1
s2member_level2
administrator

It’s just in the WP interface for administering users that the various people with “subscriber” show up as Unverified Members. I can’t tell if this is therefore impeding user access in any way.

Can you advise as to what might be happening here? This is on our live website, http://gaylesta.org.

Many thanks,
Devra

Could “Unverified” be a custom label you gave to the s2Member Level 0 (Subscriber) role? There’s a setting to force your custom labels in the WP users list and profile pages. See: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Membership Levels/Labels[/hilite]

If that’s not it, it’s probably another plugin causing it. You could try these: Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips

Thanks, Cristián. It turns out to have been a bigger issue. EOT settings for Paypal and Authorize.net were (as the default) set to both run automatically using WP-cron and also strip/demode users’ capabilities (the wp_capabilities field in WP_usermeta) to “subscriber,” which is what caused this to occur.

Thanks for the suggestions, though.

I’m glad you found the problem. Thanks for the update. :)
