Having issues with GZIP and .htaccess

I have followed the recommendations from this forum post http://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=16510&p=59497#p59497 and am still getting the error message of “Possible GZIP conflict on server. Unable to write GZIP exclusions into root .htaccess file (/.htaccess). Please read the panel below: Preventing GZIP Conflicts, and add this section yourself: RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} (^\|\?\|&)s2member_file_download\=.+ RewriteRule .* – [E=no-gzip:1] ” I thought maybe my .htaccess is in the wrong directory. I have it currently in the same directory as where my WP is installed. Should it be a level up? Or is there another issue going on here? This topic was modified 4 years, 9 months ago by 301networks.

Yes! It worked. I had this bit of code after some other stuff and as soon as I moved it to the top all of the error messages went away! Thanks
