Thank you for your inquiry.
s2Member will automatically redirect to the Membership Options Page when a non-User or User without access to a Post/Page attempts to reach something they don’t have access to. You can put a login form there. If you’re running s2Member Pro, you might use the Pro Login Widget. See: Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Pro Login Widget (via PHP) As far as what shows up on your homepage, that’s a theme option. You’ll need to check into that on the theme end of your site. |

What I am trying to do is show previews of the latest premium posts. When they click on the article, then they would be directed to login or signup. Are you saying that is not possible? I have the settings in my theme correct and was under the impression that yours could do that. |

That’s possible. But that’s something your theme needs to do. If you’re having problems with your protected Posts now showing up, you might check to make sure you don’t have s2Member’s Alternative View Protection enabled. See: Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› Alternative View Protection |

My theme is set for that and works fine when the plugin is not active. I have never had an issue with this theme until this plugin. Any suggestions would be great! |

So, deactivating s2Member causes your most recent Posts to show back up on your homepage? Have you tried making sure that Alternative View Protection is off? Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› Alternative View Protection |

Yes, all options on alternative view are turned off. And Yes, the theme works fine without the plugin :-) |

Thanks. I’ll have our development team run testing on this, but this is out of scope of our support. I’m totally unaware of any reason this would be happening because of s2Member, but if there is a reason that may be widespread we’ll let you know. In the mean time I would ask the theme’s developer if there is any reason this might be happening that they know of. |

Thanks! I also noticed that when I make a selection on the Membership options page, that the home page automatically changes from showing recent posts to the specified page for the Membership. To me that doesn’t sound right. |

That’s very strange. It sounds like something’s up with the way your theme is querying your Posts. I couldn’t really tell you what’s causing this based on that, though. :-\ |

Hmm…ok..well what are my options? It looks like the plugin will not work for my theme. Is there the possibility of a refund? |

Ryan, could you submit your site’s info so I take a look at your installation? If you aren’t using the Alt View Restriction, then the posts would show in the archives and home page (when it’s set to show latest posts). The post would show complete or up to the “more” tag if you’re using it. This applies when you’re restricting the post with an s2Member level or custom capability. Since you want to have a teaser for each post, I’d suggest using the “more” tag in your posts. When the user clicks the “read more” link where the “more” tag splits the post, the user will be taken to the Membership Options Page if he doesn’t have the proper access for that post. Don’t make the Membership Options Page the same as the Home page, this is known to cause problems. The Membership Options Page could have a login box, or a link to the login page. |
