Hi

Is there any way to keep my forum -page S2M protected, but still have public access to the RSS feeds?
Thank you very much for any help.

Best regards
Ivan

Hi Ivan.

You may want to take a look at the Alt. View protection settings. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› Alternative View Protection[/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)

Thank you, but I already did and this looks OK to me?

To me it looks like i just can protect/hide my RSS feeds – I can´t set a public view?

Well, the feed itself is not hidden by s2Member, what that setting lets you do is prevent protected posts from being listed in the feed. If the feed itself is not being shown, then that’s probably the theme, but if you had the URL for it, it should still work.

What exactly is the problem you’re having? Maybe I’m misunderstanding something.

Yes it´s a bit strange because I can se the feeds in my browser on the PC:
http://www.gpsforalle.dk/community/rss/
But on my iPhone i can´t (neither on my readers or in the “normal” browser).

If I deactivate the S2M protection for the page, everything works fine…

UPS, I´m sorry… The reason for I could read the feeds on my PC, was because I was logged in :-)

So the problem is:
When I have NO S2 protection on my page (http://www.gpsforalle.dk/community/), everybody can read the feeds on http://www.gpsforalle.dk/community/rss/

But when I ACTIVATE the S2 protection on the page, the guest´s can´t reed the feeds anymore ….

Right, if you’ve protected the page, then it won’t be accessible anymore by those without the access to it…

When I tried the feed URL you posted, I got redirected to http://www.gpsforalle.dk/gfa-fordelsklubben/?_s2member_seekingtype=page&_s2member_seekingpage=16803&_s2member_seeking_uri=L2NvbW11bml0eS9yc3Mv&_s2member_reqtype=level&_s2member_reqlevel=0&_s2member_restype=page&s2member_seeking=page-16803&s2member_level_req=0 which shows in the vars that it’s protected with the Page restriction.

What feed is that, for the comments on that page?

Why do you want to make public the feed for a restricted page?
