how to trigger automatic 'welcome' email?

We are using S2 to manage membership access on our cycling club website. New registrations get ‘basic’ level access by default. When we’ve verified the registrant is a club member we upgrade them to ‘member’ status and send out a welcome email. All works fine, except the welcome email is currently sent manually. Is there a way to trigger it automatically? i.e. when the membership level is changed to ‘member’, automatically send out email to that member. Don’t need to personalise the message – stock text would do. Thanks for any suggestions. – Scott.

Hi Scott. What comes to mind to do that would be integrating with a service like AWeber or MailChimp and create a list for the level you’re upgrading them to, and the first email in that list’s sequence be the Welcome one.
