hi guys,

I’m quite new to WordPress, we are looking at translating an existing site over to WordPress. We will is already use WordPress for certain sections of the site.

Basically we have three levels of access, unregistered, free and account holder.

In our case account holder refers to someone who has purchased software and has paid for subscription. we need to give account holders access to various parts of the site dependent on what software they have purchased.

Now the payment for the software and subscriptions are all done off-line and we have no current intention to put it online.

So we need a way to initially bulk upload account holders, will also use an API to update and modify account holders settings.

then secure, pages and posts depending on the individual software an account holder owns.

Now we have developed various internal databases and sites to manage all this information, so we don’t really want to duplicate it in WordPress. So the moment just looking at solutions we could use.

Any import will be much appreciated

Best regards

Gary

Hello Gary, could you please expand on what you mean with this?

You mean the website and such will be online (obviously) but the database for WordPress etc. will not be in the same server?

Please expand on this. :)

Hi Eduan

the WordPress database will be on the same server as WordPress. the internal system I mentioned also completely separate SQL Server and .net application, we used to manage add customer details.

One possibility, is to export data from our current system and use it to import into WordPress and S2 member plug-in, or use custom API code to link into a internal system.

Thanks

So you’re gonna have your own custom applicatio in order to add customers? And you need a method to import those into WordPress automagically?

I see.

Well s2Member’s import/export capabilities are all explained in this article: Knowledge Base » Import (or Mass Update) Users

Perhaps you could edit that software so that it’s output is in a way that s2Member understands…
