I’m looking at s2member pro and need to know if the following is possible. I understand coding will need to be used and I’ll have to hire someone but I need to know if this is possible first of all with s2member:

Level 1 members

1. Turning s2member into an affiliate system where each new member gets a link to promote. This is a team site though so no $$ is involved. I googled this and I think it’s quite possible.

2. Automation so if a team member gives out a site of lets say http://www.mysite.com/start-here?members-id-here then the sign up link on that site for the team site will be their affiliate link.

3. When a member doesn’t have 2 signups and they are on a specific page they will only see a page that will tell them once they have signed up 2 members this page will be revealed.

3a. Once they get 2 members signed up into s2member they automatically upgrade to a level 2 member and this page is no longer visable and is replaced with a new page + they change lists in aweber.

3b. The purpose of them seeing this new page is for them to join a program and they will see who their sponsor is. It doesn’t have to be their direct sponsor into s2member, it could be someone 5 levels above them in the s2member affiliate structure and they needs to see this persons contact info.

3c. So this means there would have to be a page that is filled in to by the person in the program to basically tell the system yes this person is part of this program and im next in line for ppl under me to see im the sponsor.

3d. If they want to get more info they fill out a form and it gets emailed to the person in the program but it also emails the other people inbetween. Say person 1 is in the program and person 4th below this 1st person is wanting to join and fills out the form. Then person 2 and 3 both get an email saying person 4 is about to join the program and you’re not in it, you will loose out on sales if you dont join asap!

3e. If person 2 and 3 didn’t join then once person 4 joined they both get emails again to contact person 1 again as this email tells them you lost out on a sale so join person 1 in the program right now or you will loose more sales.

That’s if for now, if s2member can do this then it can do the other simple things I want.

Please let me know if it is capable of this.

Thanks
Dominik

Hi Dominik,

s2Member should be able to do all this, with the help of some custom code. s2Member is not set up to be used as an affiliate program, but you can restrict access to all the pages and use s2Member’s API to help set this up.

You’ll need to add some custom code along with s2Member for notifying users through email, a few different parts of your structure for giving out links, including hooking into s2Member’s processes for creating Pro Forms to add the user’s ID to a custom registration field (Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields) so that you can access it.

If you do decide to go ahead with s2Member Pro, you’ll want to check out the following sections in your WordPress Dashboard:

Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Shortcode Attributes (Explained)
Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Notifications -› Signup Notifications

Thanks Bruce! And good to know that it can do everything I want essentially :)

Quick question though. How come you say it’s not designed to be an affiliate system when this is on the main site:

The s2Member® Framework is an extremely versatile & powerful (free) membership management plugin for WordPress®. The s2Member® Framework plugin integrates seamlessly with PayPal® Standard Buttons (very easy), and fully supports recurring billing, with the ability to track affiliate commissions on a recurring basis (through your choice of many affiliate platforms).

So I get that it’s external but the s2member part would be where people sign up under people right? And I’m not paying people anything then it should work if a coder did it.

Are I right?

s2Member provides the ability to set up an affiliate system through Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Tracking. However s2Member is not, in itself, an affiliate program. This needs to be set up separately from s2Member.

s2Member will be able to sign users up, and provide access restriction. However, you’ll need to set up external functionality to have users under other users, and populate fields so that s2Member can provide access restrictions.
