When clicking on one of our Paypal buttons to initiate a new recurring payment, Paypal generates the following error:

“Sorry — your last action could not be completed”

I have tried all of the common troubleshooting tips except disabling plugins or a clean installation. I have tested the server with the s2member server script without issue.

Here is the shortcode we are using to generate the buttons:

[s2Member-PayPal-Button level="1" ccaps="special_plays_alerts,core_strategy_alerts" desc="Quarterly subscription to the Option Trading Strategy Bundle." ps="paypal" lc="" cc="USD" dg="0" ns="1" custom="www.options-intelligence.com" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="400" rp="3" rt="M" rr="1" rrt="" rra="1" image="http://www.options-intelligence.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/subscribe-now.png" output="button" /]

Here is the actual HTML output for the button above:

<form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">

</form>

Our last new signup via Paypal was on 8/9/2013. We use S2Member on another website (www.onedaywonderoptions.com) with similar plugins and have had no issues.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Update 8/13:

This issue may be browser related, I can’t quite figure it out. The Paypal buttons are working for me in Chrome, but do not work in Firefox or Internet Exploder (all latest versions). We are dead in the water until we get this resolved.

Scratch that. Sometimes it works in Chrome, sometimes it doesn’t. Tried incognito mode to clear the cache and had the same problem… no idea what is going on here.

I have temporarily removed the button encryption requirement on Paypal and disabled button encryption on s2member. This appears to have resolved the issue and potentially identify the problem (being the button encryption).

Thanks for the updates. I’m glad you have it working again.

About the encryption, do you have it enabled in the other sites where the checkout is not being a problem?

Could you create a test installation of WP with just s2Member, configure PayPal and try an encrypted button there to see if you can reproduce the problem in a clean installation? Thanks!

Cristián,

Thanks for the reply. I do have button encryption enabled on the other site you mentioned (http://www.onedaywonderoptions.com). It works perfectly (we have separate Paypal accounts for the two sites).

I think we are just going to integrate Payments Pro and do away with buttons altogether.

In regards to testing another installation on the server… I’ll get right on that when I figure out how to clone myself. :D
