i just installed s2member today. right now there are no restrictions on anything in my site. if you type in the url http://thebabyditty.net everything works fine. but if you use the ‘www’ eg http://www.thebabyditty.net then s2member redirects you to my membership options page. thoughts?

here’s some more information since i first posted:
it seems that s2member is automatically directing visitors to the options page. i’ve quadruple checked that i have no restrictions. also, i’ve gone through all of the steps outlined in the troubleshooting guide and the only thing that works is to turn the s2member plugin off.

again more info:
it seems that s2member restricts access to my homepage no matter what if i’m not logged in. i can still access pother pages. if i am logged in then it treats the http://www.thebabyditty.net as an attempt to access my homepage while not logged in and redirects me to the membership options.

thanks,
-michael

Hello Michael,

Hmm… Do you have URI restrictions enabled? The only way to block the homepage with s2Member is using URI restrictions. Look for a ‘/’ or anything that includes the URL of your website’s homepage.

Eduan,

Thanks but no. I’ve just checked again. In fact, I put a restriction in and then deleted it just to make sure. It doesn’t change anything.

It however is ONLY the homepages that are restricted (as a reminder, there should be no restrictions). If I am logged in then accessing http://thebabyditty.net works fine but http://www.thebabyditty.net redirects to the membership options page.

Any other thoughts?

It may be the problem described in this article:
