Hello,

I get a message in the player field: ‘Error loading stream: Could not connect to server.’ I integrated S2member, Amazon S3 and Cloudfront:

1. I completed the integration between s2Member and Amazon S3.
2. I completed the integration between s2Member and CloudFront.
3. The file, video.mp4 is file exists in this location, inside the Bucket tied to my CloudFront distribution.
4. The file name and path are correct.

I used the shortcode:

[s2Stream player="jwplayer-v6-rtmp" player_path="/jwplayer/jwplayer.js" file_download="video.mp4" /]

I am a novice and not a coder.

Thank you.

Details received. Thank you!

It appears that you configured CNAME records for your CloudFront distros. However, your existing CNAME records are not pointed to the right locations. You currently have them pointing to S3. They need to be pointed to your CloudFront distributions.

Please see: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudFront/latest/DeveloperGuide/CNAMEs.html

Please let us know if problems persist :-)

Hi Jason,

Thanks so much for responding on the weekend. The great support here is why I swiched from DAP to s2Member.

I changed the DNS cname to point to cloudfront in my host account but I still couldn’t play the video.

I just sent you another private post (with images of my configuation in S2member, Cloudfront and my web host panel). All appear to be congruent.

Should I try from the beginning to set everything up? If so, is there a way to reset s2member’s configurations with Amazon S3 and Cloudfront?

Thank you.

Thanks for the follow-up :-)

Your CNAME records aren’t right yet.
It looks like you pointed them to just: CLOUDFRONT.NET
They should be pointed to your CloudFront distribution domain names , respectively.

Example: xxxxxxxxxxxs.cloudfront.net (streaming distribution)
Example: xxxxxxxxxxxd.cloudfront.net (downloads distribution)

Please check the documentation here. You can grab your distribution domain names from the Amazon Console.

Thanks Jason – everything is A OK.

Your help and support has been invaluable!

A side note – are there books you would recommend to be able to understand some of the technical terms you all seem to be so fluent with?

For us non-coders this can be daunting.

Thanks for the follow-up :-)

I recommend articles/sites more than books. Most everything is online these days.
