Keep all member levels free?

My client needs some of the features of S2Member (custom profile fields, import/export, unlimited member levels and restricting content by level) but doesn’t want to require payment for anything. Can we use it and have everything be free with no problems?

Also, they will be creating new member accounts manually – can they set an EOT on each of those accounts even if they’re not paid subscriptions?

You can accomplish all of this with s2Member® Pro’s Free Registration Forms, available under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Free Registration Forms. Here you can set up forms to give free access to any level, and set up End of Term (EOT) dates here with the tp and tt attributes. Information is provided on doing so within the Dashboard.

After the user is registered, the EOT dates for users are fully editable from Dashboard -› Users when editing users.

Providing membership this way provides access to all of s2Member’s core features, and restriction by level / custom capability, user import/export, and custom profile fields are all unaffected by this.

There won’t be any front-end registration on this site – the owners will be creating all member accounts manually. Can you confirm that we can set up any number of member levels with no fees attached (with S2Member Pro) and use them for our manually-added members?

And when we upload our 2000+ members via CSV, will be be able to assign them to one of the free member levels then (or can we mass-select them after upload and change their membership level at that point)?

When you create a new user, this user can be assigned any role that has been created in the past. If you use the info above to create more user levels, there will be more to choose from within the Dashboard.

s2Member’s user Import/Export structure allows you to specify membership level, the user’s Custom Capabilties, Registration Date, the values of their Custom Profile/Registration Fields, and many other settings. So not only can you specify their levels this way, but s2Member also supports group upgrade / downgrade directly from the User’s list in the Dashboard.
