I have just moved my wevsite to a new host – this wasn’t partuculalry straightforward. I had to re-key the s2Mmebr page permissions on each page.

I entered the authorisation key into s2member that was originally allocated before the site was moved.

During the move I had to rename most of the SQL tables as the prefix was not the same and for some reason ‘normal’ ways of moving a WP site did not work. I was able to access the dash board to start with but at some stage during the re-naming process the admin page resolved that I did not have relevant permssions. I completed renaming all of the SQL tables and the site is up and running.

However, when I try and access the dash board using the correct login and password (have requested a new password to ensure it is correct) I cannot access the dashboard – the page resolves the ‘login fail’ page. However when looking at the top right the ‘Howdy admin’ is displayed and I have the facility to log out – if I select ‘edit profile’ it resolves the ‘login fail’ page. If I login as a normal user, again the page resolves the ‘login fail’ page and I am unable to access and of the pages that I have permission to access. And again the howdy (username) is displayed on the top right.

I am stumped with this – I am a new user to s2member and wordpress so any help is appreaciated.

Hi Eduan,
I had previously many of the ‘fixes’ you kindly sent. I’ve check the options table in the SQL DB (Options table) and the URL is http://www.vba.org.au and matched that in the WP install. I have used your php server scanner and that came back ok….I have no plugins that differ from my prevsious webhost….I think that the issue is moving from one web host to the other – I can only assume that I have not sucessfully completed the moving…one of the webpages is not resolving so I think its an error I am making in moving the site. Can anyone point me in the direction of a YouTube video that explains how to transition a WP wesbite from one web host to another including the s2member plug in so that all the setting in s@member are retained and do not have to be re-keyed – is that possible?. I have viewed many Youtube videos on how t move WP and followed the last one to the letter and the result was not as expected….thanks

I see, yes a badly moved website can cause various errors.

To move s2Member correctly along with WordPress you just need to have deactivation safeguards enabled (Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Deactivation Safeguards) and move WordPress correctly, that moves everything including s2Member’s info.

Hi Eduan,
Deactivation safeguards were enabled before the site was moved I am looking at deleting the new site and trying the process again.
