Hi All,

After looking through all of the different topics pertaining to this issue, I’m officially stumped. I have added the proper Mailchimp API and List ID’s to S2Member, but for some reason they are not communicating (calling).

I tested it myself and when the confirmation email comes and I click the link it says “Your link expired” although it was seconds old.

I tried to activate the logging under paypal options to see where the issue was but I’m not sophisticated enough to figure our where the log is supposed to be: /home/content/69/9294669/html/wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs how do I find this?

Bottom line: new users are getting through the paypal and s2member process just fine but they are not landing on the Mailchimp mailing list.

Hello Justin,

So the problem you’re having is with the MailChimp confirmation email?

Also, you can find your logs under /wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs, you can also enable logging under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Log Files (Debug) -› Logging Configuration, make sure to enable all the logging routines. :)

Hi Eduan,

Thank you SOOO much for your reply. To answer your question; I’m not sure if it’s from mailchimp.

After finishing up with paypal and creating the username password for the website they get an email-

This email is the one that someone receives when they subscribe (the one you setup under Paypal Options “Signup Confirmation Email (Standard)). That email has a link to complete the registration that is expired before they even open it. So as of right now when they do open it they get an “Expired Link” message and the process stops dead. I’ve tried multiple times.

I’m assuming when that works they would click that link and S2Member notifies Mailchimp and either they are added to the mailchimp list or that lets mailchimp know to send you a confirmation email?

Here’s the link that lands in their inbox pre-expired:

Also on the logging, I don’t know how to find “/wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs” I’m sorry. I enabled it but I don’t know how to find it. Under my WP dashboard and S2Member Log Files is not showing up?

Thanks again!

Ah I see. That problem is usually caused by the URL minimizing service.

Could you please change the URL minimizing service you use under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› URL Shortening Service.

The minimizing service is things like goo.gl or bit.ly etc. :)

Thanks Eduan:

I switched from tinyurl to goo.gl and it gave me the same “expired link” error. Link below:

Any other ideas?
How do I find log files? (for dummies version please)

Thanks

You can find logs under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Log Files (Debug).

However there’s no logs for this, except the ones about HTTP connections or something (maybe), which you need to enable the logging for that under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Log Files (Debug) -› Logging Configuration.

Thanks Eduan~

I’m still not sure why it’s sending out expired links? Tried tinyurl and goo.gl. All I know is that’s keeping people from being added to the Mailchimp list.

Any other thoughts?

Could you please try integrating with bit.ly?
If that doesn’t work then could you please try these common trouble shooting tips: Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips
