I’m trying to figure out how to make the auto-transitioning for MailChimp lists work in our situation. Here’s an overview of our set-up:

–> When a user registers, he is made a Level1 subscriber (during a 1-day free trial period).
–> If he does not upgrade to full membership by the end of the free trial period, he is downgraded to Level0.
–> When he upgrades to full membership (either during the free trial period or after), is is upgraded to Level2.

All very straightforward. We have List Transitioning activated so users are transitioned from one list to another when their membership level changes. We have MailChimp set up to send Level0 members a series of auto-responder emails on days X, X and X after they are added to the Level0 list. When they upgrade, they’re automatically removed from the Level0 list & stop receiving the auto-responder emails (and they’re added to the Level2 list). It all works perfectly.

But here’s our problem…

–> When a paid subscriber cancels, he is downgraded from Level2 to Level0.

And now, based on the ‘API / List Servers’ settings (which are REQUIRED to make the whole system explained above work), s2Member automatically adds the user BACK onto the Level0 list (because the user is transitioned from Level2 to Level0). Because the user just got added back onto the Level0 list, he is going to receive the series of auto-responder emails AGAIN (and they’re completely irrelevant).

So my question is this… Is there a way to NOT add the user to the Level0 list when he cancels & is downgraded from Level2 to Level0 WITHOUT it disabling the entire system we have in place for the lists/auto-responders sent on the front end (during the sign-up/free trial process)?

Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you.
