“With s2Member installed, you can add the Custom Field s2member_force_ssl = yes to any Post/Page. s2Member will buffer output on those special Posts/Pages, converting everything over to https:// for you automatically, and forcing those specific Posts/Pages to be viewed over a secure SSL connection; so long as your server supports the https protocol.”

My Members Options Page is where I have my Paypal buttons and I understand that they have to be displayed in SSL. I now have a SSL site so everything is good from the host.

How do I add “the Custom Field s2member_force_ssl = yes” to the Membership Options Page so that it will be displayed as “https?”

Thanks … Bill

PS…I will not be offended if your answer is really rudimentary and basic…I am obviously not a programmer :)

Hi Bill,

You just tack it on the end of the url. Like this:

http://yoursite.com/membership-options-page/?s2member_force_ssl=yes

Thanks Bruce, but how do you do this?

I tried editing the permalink but WP Twenty Eleven v1.2 will not let me add anything to the right of the second forward slash, so:

/about-the-art-of-prize-writing/?s2member_force_ssl-yes/

gives a URL of:

/about-the-art-of-prize-writings2member_force_ssl-yes/

Is there another way of changing the URL?

Correction. Those instructions Bruce gave were incorrect. I apologize for that.

A “Custom Field” indicates that it’s a Custom Field within your WordPress Post/Page editor. You don’t need to tack anything onto the URL, just add this Custom Field to your Post/Page editor for that specific page where you want to force SSL.

s2member_force_ssl = yes

Please see this article for clarification about what Custom Fields in WordPress are:
