Thanks for proving this plugin for free, it is excellent. I have been using s2Member (free) for 18 months (not made enough to go Pro yet) and have never had any issues, until recently. Due to update conflicts with the template I was using and WordPress 3.5, it was necessary to change themes, which should have been straight-forward. Unfortunately I was using a shopping cart theme modified to accept free downloads so that I could integrate it with s2Member, with the new theme I decided to try a different approach as the free eCommerce plugins don’t appear to like free downloads without going through the plugins registration process, which never seemed to work with s2Member. So I decided to use a normal layout (grid) and offer download links to my various member groups. For some reason I couldn’t get s2Member to work properly so decided to use wp-filesbase, but that wouldn’t allow s2Member to limit the number of downloads each group was allowed, so I got rid of that plugin also. After 7 extremely frustrating days I have come to realise that perhaps it wasn’t the fault of wp-filebase but s2Member is causing all the problems and no matter what I do I can’t get it to work. The main issue is that it doesn’t recognise any members, even the admin, and whenever I try to download a PDF file (the only downloadable files I have) I get redirected to the Membership Options page. However, when I initially click the download link I get the message box telling me how many downloads I have left, and then I get redirected to the Membership Options page. Over the past week I have tried everything from deactivate/reactivating the plugin to a complete re-install of both s2Member and WordPress but nothing seems to help, I have even tried the process in three different browsers, ensured that the site and links are all the same (www) and a 301 redirect through .htaccess to enforce the www rule. As it stands at the moment there is a clean install of both s2Member and WordPress with only 1 downloadable file, but I still can’t get to it either as the admin or free user test account I created. Personally I am willing to cut my losses and delete the whole site but unfortunately I have a number of annul members that have subscribed and expect to be able to get access to the files they have paid for. The website is: http://www.downloadknittingpatterns.com any help would be very much appreciated, I am sure it is something I have either overlooked or got wrong but after having gone through the videos and forums over and over for the past week I can’t seem to find out where I may have got it wrong. Regards Damien
