I just started using this plugin and developing my member site. I am very new to it so it is a learning curve. My site is going to be an artist site where members can join and upload their photos and artwork.

I am stuck at the membership options page. I understand that I need to list the different levels and payment buttons but I can’t figure out how to set up the page so that a member either registers for free or chooses a paying higher level. I am understanding the shortcodes, which are great, but I don’t see any to customize this page. Maybe it’s all about the payment buttons, I don’t know. I found a template to copy for the Login Welcome Page…Is there a template for the Membership Options Page?

Which leads me to my next problem…Once a member chooses a level and joins they need to be directed to their member page to customize it. How do I setup customized member pages for the different levels? I want them to be able choose a color scheme and layout. I seem to be really lost on this part.

I apologize for my lack of knowledge on this but I would appreciate any help or guidance I can get.
Thanks.

Hello Tammy,

Well, I would just like to point out that for the system you want to create, s2Member, and WordPress in general, are not meant or made for this. You will have to do a lot of work to get them working for what you want (“an artist site where members can join and upload their photos and artwork.”).

Now, to your actual question. No there isn’t a membership options page template.

All you need to know about the membership options page is that’s where users try to access something they don’t have access to. What do you want users to see at that point?

I’m okay with the work that needs to be done. And I think what I ‘m trying to accomplish is possible. I want the people who want to join to go to the Membership Options Page, choose their subscription and pay for it. Then they need to be directed to their Account Page and be able to set up their member page. I created the Membership Options Page where they can pay and join, and I created their Account Page which lists their info. Now I need to figure out how to create the member pages which will be pretty basic for all members and link it from their Account Page. Any suggestions?

OK, simple enough… For this you can use an s2Member shortcode, which you can find under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Member Profile Modifications.

However this only allows the user to see his own account info, not another’s user.

Do you want the user to be able to see other users’ profiles?

I have created the account pages in which the user can access their account info. I did get the shortcode from where you mentioned.

Now the problem I am having is creating a member page (not an account page). A member page where they can post their info and photos, and other members can comment.. (basically a profile page that all members can see).

Which leads me to the next issue. I want all the members to be able to see all the other members pages.

I’m coming along with this pretty good but it seems that this main important section I’ve hit a road block on. There just has to be a way to do this. I am really loving what this s2Member has to offer. I just want to make this work.

Ah, I’m afraid that for this you will have to install another (heavy) plugin. Something along the lines of BuddyPress (if not BuddyPress).
