Migrating users

I’m migrating a WordPress site onto new hosting, and want to verify how to migrate the new users that have, in the meantime, subscribed on the existing site while I was modifying the new one. I’m using the free S2Member plugin.

Is it just going into phpmyadmin and exporting the users and usermeta tables and deleting and importing them on the new site?

Everything else on the site stayed the same – domain, etc. It’s just a new hosting account.

So in other words, you’re moving your hosting, you’re moving from one server to another no?

Hi Eduan,

That’s correct. I actually went ahead and tried my hypothesis and it seems to have worked fine. I exported the most current users and usermeta tables from the live site, dropped the existing users and usermeta tables on the newly migrated site, imported the recent ones and then made my migrated site the live site.

Hopefully that was all that was needed. It seemed to pull in all the members that signed up while I was modifying the migrated site on the new server.
