I’m working on a project for a client that needs to have individual “locked” sites. These aren’t really blogs and each site will have the same type of content (but individualized for each customer). This is the “flow” of what we’re looking for:

  • Customer goes to the main site.
  • Customer logs in.
  • Customer is directed to their specific site. This site is only available to this particular customer.
  • Customer is billed monthly for access to their site.
  • Can s2Member do this?
If so, will it require any additional customization?
    Which license?
  • Can members be managed from the main site?

Thanks.

I have the same interest as 3DP. How ever I have a small change.

I will be running a site and have members to the site. How ever the members are paying to allow people to come view there pages. These pages are broken into two categories Members and anyone. These members will be their members, however I will run the over all sites.
Example:
I run http://www.radioshack.com My members would pay to have pages under multi-site to house pages, images, blogs. IE http://www.radioshack.com/msn/. The member who owns/admins “msn” will have non members and members pages. I want them to have to pay for that access. If they do not pay their bill I would like “msn” not to be accessible to anyone. Until payment is received.

There will be
http://www.radioshack.com/msn/
http://www.radioshack.com/google/
http://www.radioshack.com/yahoo/
http://www.radioshack.com/facebook/

Each having there own set of users independent of the other pages.

I do want to say also, your plug in is AMAZING! And I look forward to doing TONS of business with you all.

Hi 3dp.

Customer is directed to their specific site. This site is only available to this particular customer.
Customer is billed monthly for access to their site.

Can s2Member do this?
If so, will it require any additional customization?
Which license?
Can members be managed from the main site?

If I’m not mistaken you’ll need to use a plugin or hack that lets you share users between the main site and child blogs.

I emailed Jason asking him about the access to the child blogs when the user stops paying.

Since you’re giving users a blog, you’d need the Network Support license. http://www.s2member.com/prices/#s2-terms-blog-farming

Hi Harley.

My answer to you is pretty similar to 3dp.

The member who owns/admins “msn” will have non members and members pages.

Right. You can allow s2Member to be used in the child blogs and the admins of those blogs will be able to use it to manage access to their content.

I want them to have to pay for that access. If they do not pay their bill I would like “msn” not to be accessible to anyone. Until payment is received.

I’m waiting for Jason to answer my email about this.

Each having there own set of users independent of the other pages.

Right, this is the default behavior in multisite network blogs.

I do want to say also, your plug in is AMAZING! And I look forward to doing TONS of business with you all.

Thanks so much for the kudos! Very glad you like it! :)

Thanks for the heads up on this request for support.

s2Member does not come with any functionality that handles this in an automated way. However, WordPress® itself does have a feature that allows Network Admins to deactivate a child blog temporarily.
