My content is not protected

My content is not protected and The Membership Options page is not the Homepage. The recent posts show up as the home page and the content is not protected. I tried to reset the Readings and set the Membership Otions as the home page, but get an error message that this interferes with S2Member. Any suggestions for a fix?
