Hiya,

I’m using S2Member Pro and I need some advice on the best method to achieve the following setup:

I have multiple products for sale but they will all lead back to S2Member (installed on one domain) for users to register for access to my main site and the products they have purchased.

For example, let’s say I have a weight loss product for sale and a golf tips product for sale.

John Smith will buy the weight loss product and be re-directed to the site to register as a level 1 member. He will then have access to download the weight loss product but NOT the golf tips product.

Mark Jones will buy the golf tips product and be re-directed to the site to register as a level 1 member. He will then have access to download the golf tips product but NOT the weight loss product.

The reason I want them to both be on Level 1 is because I will have an upgrade option that will be on Level 2.

Also, if either of these customers then buy any other products, they should also then have access to all these products within the members area without having to sign up and register again.

Basically, under a users account is it possible for S2Member to keep track of purchases so that they can access multiple products under the same account?

Is this possible? I’m sorry if this is confusing – it’s really hard to explain.
If it is possible, what’s the best way to achieve it? I have a PHP coder on hand to help me with any custom coding, I just need some advice on the cleanest way to achieve this.

Thanks
Eleanor

Hello Eleanor,

You might be interested in using ccaps (short for “custom capabilities”), they allow you to separate content in such a way that it’s not a incremental access (level 2 gets content for level 2 and below), so it allows you to separate your content in the way you want.

You can check a video about them here:
Video » s2Member (Custom Capabilities)

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks – I think I’ll ask my developer to take a look at the custom capabilities options and see if it’s something that can be done.

I’m assuming that’s the best way around it? No simpler way?

Thanks
Eleanor

Hello Eleanor,

Yes that’s right, unless you take into account specific post/page access, here’s a video about it:
Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› Specific Post/Page Access Restrictions

Hope this helps. :)
