Hi All,

I know this is a commoneproblem that has been talked about in the past, but for some reason, none of the current solutions works.

My problem:

I have set up a recurring monthly fee with a 2 week free trial. I am able to go through the process and receive an email from paypal re: payment, but not for a user registration.

Below is the log of the transaction: It says confirmation email was sent to my email address, but never got it. I also believe that everything is set up right and S2member is receiving the message from Paypal.

Note: I have tried a re-occuring no free trial test and everything works great so the paypal is integrated correctly

thanks for the help. dave

As long as your host doesn’t restrict outbound connections on ports 465 and 587, I suggest using a plugin to relay mail via SMTP.

I’ve used this one with success:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/

If you use gmail SMTP, copies of all outgoing messages are stored within the “gmail/Sent Mail” IMAP folder. This way you can troubleshoot whether the holdup is on the outgoing or incoming side.

Aloha!

Thanks for the info, I actually did this before you wrote the comment, but thanks for the help. For future people who have same problem, I was using the Avada theme.

So David, was the problem caused by your theme in the end? Or was it something else?

Hi Eduan,

Yes, for some reason the php mail function was not working with the Avada Theme. Once I installed the SMTP plugin and switched from php -> SMTP the problem was fixed.

thanks for the help.
